Celebrating life through exercise, socialisation and both physical and mental activity, local residents across Western Australia (WA) got to live lighter with WA’s Premier Event of the Year for seniors – ‘Have a Go Day’.
It was Ingenia Gardens’ second year of sponsoring ‘Have a Go Day, a Live Lighter event’ – the annual Premier Event for WA’s over 55’s. Organised by a team of dedicated volunteers and coordinators from the Seniors Recreation Council of WA Inc (SRCWA), the event is the largest single event specifically targeted at the demographic with a mix of over 230 vendor sites and activities for attendees to enjoy. Officially launched in 1991, the mission of the SRCWA is to promote the ethos of ‘Healthy Ageing Through Activity’ and to influence all levels of government in the development and implementation of practices and policies favourable to encouraging participation in recreational and sporting groups for older adults.
In the beautiful surrounds of Burswood Park, this year patrons were able to participate in a range of activities including Laser Pistol, Hot Hula, BlowKarts, Canoeing and Boomerang throwing just to mention a few. Exhibitors ranging from the Association of Caravan Clubs WA Inc, Crown Casino Perth, Diabetes WA, yours truly – Ingenia Gardens, Hearing Australia and others provided a wide selection of informative and educational goodies to attendees.
To top it all off, our photobooth provided patrons to get a bit silly and dress up for some happy and quirky snaps! We are looking forward to Have a Go Day 2022, that’s for sure!
