April 28th, 2020 marked 15 years of Ingenia Gardens Horsham and whilst residents were unable to gather to mark the occasion due to social-distancing guidelines, they were still able to celebrate the community’s anniversary from a distance with a high tea.
Community Manager Barb Cavanagh wanted to find a special way to commemorate the occasion and decided that creating a high tea style menu, which was whipped up by the talented Community Chef and was delivered to each resident on the day. “We thought it would be a nice way for residents to celebrate the milestone in style and from a distance”, said Barb.
The anniversary was extra special for resident, Shirley Bragonje who has lived at Ingenia Gardens for 15 years and is one of its original residents. “The anniversary is very special for our community and having been here for such a long time, I’ve gotten to know everyone very well,” she said.
“The many milestones and birthdays I’ve celebrated here are among my fondest memories, so
no matter how we celebrate, the joy I’ve experienced in this community is what makes this occasion
so meaningful to me. “Everyone is so friendly and welcoming; I feel so lucky to have called our community home for the past 15 years.”
Ingenia Gardens communities enjoy holding regular events within their communities as it is a wonderful way to bring the residents together to share common interests and a sense of belonging, and even during times of social distancing, the managers have been doing a wonderful job in bring residents together in safe environment.
