Trudy is passionate about many things including working with seniors and implementing the Montessori approach. Trudy has many hobbies including cooking, dancing, playing the piano, keeping fit and meditating.
Q. What inspired you to become a Village Manager and what do you enjoy most about the job?
A. I was looking for a new challenge. I enjoy the interaction with people and the continuation of learning from their life experiences. Their stories are far more interesting than fiction.
Q. What Activate activity do your residents enjoy the most?
A. The Price is Right is popular – everyone has a guess and of course there are great prizes to give away.
Q. What is your residents’ favourite meal?
A. Lamb Roast and Pavlova with strawberries.
Q. Who would be one person who you would like to have a conversation with?
A. Burt Bacharach – my favourite composer.
Q. What is your most rewarding or satisfying experience or your proudest moment since becoming a Village Manager with Ingenia Gardens?
A. The residents accepting of my encouragement for them to contribute in a wide range of community events. Activities such as sewing beanies for Nepal, sports bags for disabled athletes, fundraising for cancer research. I think they love to contribute and they have a great work ethic.
Q. If you had a spare room in your house what would you use it for?
A. Dance studio
Q. People would be surprised to know…
A. I have had a weekly private dance lesson for 20 years. I enjoy learning the technical side of dance and am presently preparing for an Argentine Tango medal.
Q. What has been your most memorable community entertainer or bus trip destination?
A. Christmas Cabaret Night.
