Congratulations to Gwendolyn Chislett of Ingenia Gardens Dubbo on being awarded Dubbo’s Senior Citizen of the Year for 2017.
With a passion for helping those in need, Gwendolyn is often found making various treats and crafts all in the name of a good cause. At 84, she has found a way to make the most of her creativity helping others for decades.
Her latest fundraising activity in the village was a Tradies Breakfast for ‘Livin – It Ain’t Weak to Speak’ was in memory of young Dubbo tradesman, Perry Meredith. Together with the other residents the Tradie’s Breakfast managed to raise $5,123.80 for a worthy cause. Congratulations to Gwendolyn and all those involved on the amazing work!
The next fundraising activity will be held in the Ingenia Gardens Dubbo Community Room for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea on 7th June. The Biggest Morning Tea is a national fundraising effort to help raise money and awareness for the Cancer Council during the months of May and June. For a gold coin donation, guests can enjoy a morning tea of baked goods and join in the fun all for a good cause. You can find out more information about the event from Pip Downey, Senior Village Manager at Ingenia Gardens Dubbo.
