Ingenia Gardens NSW Relief Community Manager for the last 17 months, and Taree Community Cook prior for four years.
Katrina, What is your favourite memory from work?
I have quite a few wonderful memories from work. My standout one was the residents Christmas Party last year at Bathurst. It had been such a challenging year with lockdown and a particularly long cold winter – it was heartwarming to see the community room packed with residents.
All you could hear was laughter, bonbons cracking and of course groans from all the bad jokes being read out. There was such an incredible vibe that day. I still get a bit choked up thinking about it.

What is your favourite sport?
Kayaking. Especially through National Parks so I can lose myself in nature and most of the time it will be pretty isolated. When I feel brave and the conditions are right I like to go out onto the ocean though it has been a while since the last time I ended up having to bail out after being overturned by a wave and broke my paddle!
What would you eat for the rest of your life?
Such a hard question, so many choices. I would tend to go more for an unprocessed plant based style of cuisine. Lots of fresh ingredients, herbs and a variety of spices. I love my food with lots of flavours.
