The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting the home and work life of all Australians, including residents at Ingenia Gardens communities.

Our onsite management teams have been working hard to ensure the health and safety of residents, while also ensuring that life carries on with as little interruption as possible.

What have we been up to?

A safer place to live
Ingenia Gardens has always been committed to providing residents with every opportunity to enjoy living within a healthy, happy and safe community.

We remain dedicated to the health and wellbeing of residents, and have been proactive in informing and supporting our residents to help minimise their COVID-19 risk. Among the steps taken include providing ongoing advice and updates to residents, implementation of digital contact tracing technology; access to hand sanitiser and face masks, informational signage/displays, reducing large social gatherings and encouraging healthy social distancing.

As we know, this is a fluctuating situation and when the relevant state health authority announces a new directive, we implement the necessary operational changes without delay for the protection of our residents. For example, the temporary closure of our community buildings and the delivery of our homestyle meals made directly to the front door of each resident, along with a special activity to keep their minds active and feeling connected with their community.  

Ingenia Gardens is an independent living community, so within their own homes our residents retain control and access to the preventative guidelines recommended by health authorities. And our onsite management teams and their neighbours are always nearby for support and friendship.

A safer place to work
The COVID-19 virus has meant that our teams have changed the way they work. As an employer, Ingenia has been proactive in providing guidance to each team member about how to follow the latest health guidelines within our communities.
Our onsite management teams have new procedures in place regarding social distancing, additional cleanliness/hygiene, and teams are monitoring their own wellness closely.

A great place to be
We believe that by choosing to be part of an Ingenia Gardens community, our residents are more comfortable, healthier and safer. Even under the challenging circumstances of COVID-19, it’s a great place to be.

Our residents and onsite teams are making sure Ingenia Gardens communities maintain a strong sense of community spirit and we applaud them for doing so.
We see smiles and lots of friendly waves around each community. It’s also been great to hear of the support shown for neighbours who may be less able or confident. It’s wonderful seeing how our residents find ways to support each other.

Keeping things flexible
Finding new ways to adapt to the changing circumstances which arise from COVID-19 is vital. That’s why Ingenia Gardens management and onsite teams are closely monitoring the guidance of health authorities and encouraging all residents to remain positive and make sensible choices.
